Hot water that never quits
The basics

How a tankless water heater works

Instead of storing and reheating a tank of water around the clock, a tankless unit heats water only when you open a hot tap. Water flows through a powerful gas burner or electric heat exchanger and comes out hot in seconds, for as long as you need it. When you turn the tap off, it stops. That is why tankless units use less energy, take up a fraction of the space, and can deliver hot water for as long as the shower runs. They also last far longer than a traditional tank, which is why so many Clarksburg and Montgomery County homeowners upgrade. Prefer a traditional tank? We do those too.

How it works

Hot water the moment you ask for it

No tank, no waiting, no standby loss. Here is what happens when you open the tap.

1

You open a hot tap

A shower, sink, or appliance calls for hot water anywhere in the home.

2

Flow sensor fires

The unit senses the water moving and instantly ignites the burner or elements.

3

Water heats on the move

Water races through the heat exchanger and comes out hot within seconds.

4

Endless, then off

It keeps heating as long as you need, then shuts down completely when you stop.

Why homeowners switch

The benefits of going tankless

It is one of the few upgrades that pays you back every month while making daily life easier.

Endless hot water

Long showers, back to back, plus laundry and dishes, without ever running cold.

Lower energy bills

No reheating a full tank all day means less wasted energy and real monthly savings.

Space saving

A unit the size of a small suitcase mounts on the wall and frees up your floor.

Lasts much longer

A well maintained tankless can run 20 years or more, roughly double a typical tank.

No tank to burst

With no stored tank of water sitting in your home, there is far less risk of a big leak.

Fresh, not stored

You get freshly heated water on demand rather than water that has sat in a tank.

Ready for endless hot water?

Know your options

Gas, electric, and the right size

The key to loving a tankless is sizing it to how much hot water your home uses at once. We get that part right.

Gas Tankless

The most common choice for whole home use. High output handles several fixtures at once, with proper venting that we install.

6088-Tankless Water Heater

Electric Tankless

Compact and simple with no venting, great for smaller homes, additions, or point of use spots like a single bathroom.

Sizing by Flow Rate

We calculate your peak demand in gallons per minute, counting the fixtures you run together, so it never falls behind.

Not sure tankless is right for you? We will compare it honestly against a traditional tank water heater for your home.

Built for Maryland homes

Hard water and your tankless

Tankless units are efficient, but Maryland hard water leaves scale on the heat exchanger that can choke performance and void a warranty if ignored. The fix is simple: descale on a schedule. Many manufacturers require it, and we make it easy with an annual visit.

  • Descale the heat exchanger about once a year
  • Clean the inlet filter so flow stays strong
  • Pair it with whole house filtration to slow scale
  • Keep the venting and gas connections checked and clear

Franklin and his crew showed up promptly and communicated great with us to help limit disruption with the tenants at 4 of our building. Unfortunately for us a second water main leak occurred the day before. But luckily for us they were able to stay on site another 2 days and knock the second one out, even staying till 8pm to find the line and get it repaired. These will be the guys I request for our next time needs

Katie and the Clarksburg Plumbing team were phenomenal. Katie came highly recommended, and it could not have been a better choice. During an emergency plumbing issue at one of the buildings we service, her team came right out and made it happen. It was a complicated situation, but they handled it from start to finish with great responsiveness, professionalism, and patience throughout the entire process. We greatly appreciate their help and highly recommend them.

The plumber from Clarksburg Plumbing who worked on my broken gas hot water heater was John Brown. John is an amazing plumber. He is extremely energetic, very efficient, has amazing knowledge about plumbing, and is very honest. He is also very friendly, considerate, and took the time to answer all my questions. He diagnosed the problem quickly (which was a defective burner assembly). Then when I showed him the manufacturer's warranty, he took the initiative to immediately call the manufacturer and order all the necessary parts (which were free under the warranty). When the parts were delivered, he made sure to show up the next day and install the parts. As we talked throughout his time in the house, I could see that he has very deep knowledge of plumbing, which gives me confidence that his work is top quality. I also had a problem with very high water pressure in the house. The pressure regulator had to be replaced. John, working with Maddie, did a great job in fixing that as well. After the work, everything was cleaned up completely.

Highly recommend John Brown from Clarksburg Plumbing LLC! Yesterday John flushed and descaled our tankless water heater. We've gotten used to waiting and waiting for service people. That's not the case with John. He arrived pleasantly early for both the initial visit (for a no-cost estimate) and for the actual service call. He was personable, knowledgeable, and very patient with our many questions. He really helped us understand the ins and outs of this new-to-us technology of tankless water heaters. We're already recommending him to our neighbors!

Tankless water heater FAQ

What homeowners ask us most about going tankless.

With regular descaling, a tankless unit commonly lasts 20 years or more, roughly double the life of a traditional tank. Skipping maintenance in hard water areas like ours is the fastest way to cut that short.

Yes, on energy. A tankless only heats water when you use it, so you are not paying to keep a tank hot 24 hours a day. The upfront cost is higher, but the monthly savings and longer lifespan make up for it over time.

Not if it is sized right. A tankless makes hot water continuously, so it will not empty like a tank. The key is matching the unit to your peak demand, the fixtures you run at the same time, which we calculate before we install.

For most homes that use a lot of hot water or want endless supply, yes. You gain space, lower bills, and a longer lifespan. For a small home with light use, a quality tank may make more sense, and we will tell you honestly which fits.

Gas units deliver higher flow and suit whole home use, but need proper venting and a gas line. Electric units are compact, simple, and great for smaller homes or single points of use. We help you choose based on your home and demand.

Yes. The most important task is descaling the heat exchanger about once a year, especially with Maryland hard water. It keeps the unit efficient and is often required to keep the manufacturer warranty valid. We include it in our membership.

Absolutely. We handle the full conversion, including removing the old tank and upgrading the gas, venting, and connections the tankless needs. We will assess your setup and give you a clear, upfront quote first.
