Live video diagnosis
The basics

Diagnosis before demolition

A video pipe inspection sends a waterproof camera on a flexible cable through your sewer, septic, or drain line while we watch the feed in real time. Instead of guessing, or digging up your yard to find out, we see cracks, root intrusion, bellies, grease, and blockages exactly where they are. That turns a mystery into a clear plan, and it is why we camera the line before recommending drain cleaning, sewer repair, or trenchless work.

How it works

How a camera inspection works

A few minutes with a camera can save you thousands in unnecessary digging.

1

Insert the camera

We feed a waterproof camera on a flexible cable into the line through a cleanout or drain.

2

Watch it live

We view the pipe interior in real time, spotting cracks, roots, bellies, and blockages.

3

Locate & mark

We pinpoint the exact depth and spot of the problem so any repair is precise.

4

Explain your options

We show you what we found and lay out the honest fix, no scare tactics, no guesswork.

When to scope it

When you need a camera inspection

A camera inspection is cheap insurance against guessing wrong on an expensive repair.

Recurring or multiple backups

If clogs keep returning, a camera finds the real cause instead of repeating temporary fixes.

Before you buy a home

A sewer scope reveals the line’s condition before closing, so you are not stuck with a hidden repair.

Before any sewer repair

Scoping first means we fix the actual problem in the right spot, not dig up the whole yard.

Slow drains with no clear cause

When the source is a mystery, a camera shows exactly what is happening inside the pipe.

Old home or old pipe material

Clay, cast iron, and Orangeburg lines should be inspected before they fail completely.

After a backup or flood

A post-event inspection confirms whether the line was damaged and what needs attention.

Want to see what's really going on in the line?

What the camera finds

The usual suspects

Most line problems come down to a few culprits, and the camera shows us exactly which one.

miscellaneous 443 final

Roots

Tree roots growing into joints and cracks, the number one cause of sewer line failure.

Artboard 86

Cracks & Breaks

Cracked, offset, or collapsed pipe sections that leak and trap waste.

Bellies & Blockages

Sagging low spots and grease or debris buildup that cause repeated clogs.

Smart for Maryland homes

Why this matters here

Many homes across Clarksburg, Damascus, and Montgomery County have decades-old clay, cast iron, or Orangeburg sewer pipe surrounded by mature trees. A camera inspection is the cheapest way to know the real condition, before you buy a home, before a repair, or the moment backups start.

  • Scope before buying any home with older plumbing
  • Inspect before agreeing to any major sewer repair
  • Catch root intrusion early, before it collapses the line
  • Verify the fix worked with a follow-up scope
Found a problem?

We can fix it too

If the camera finds a break or blockage, we handle the repair, from drain cleaning to trenchless sewer replacement, all with one trusted crew.

Absolute best plumbers I have ever used. Needed them a few times recently and each time they were so professional, kind and resolved each problem the first time around. This last issue took them several hours to fix. They explained everything along the way and gave a very fair price for a lot of work. They also work very cleanly! I will never use another plumber!

I needed a water valve installed for my new fridge and a new faucet installed in upstairs bathroom. Seth was amazing. He came out and really listened to me and my concerns. We even called the company that was going to deliver my new fridge so he would have a better understanding of what he needed to do his job. It made me feel at ease with the whole process. He is even coming back later in the week to install new fridge once it’s delivered. I will absolutely call them again.

We had a pinhole leak suddenly appear in our outdoor hose bib, and Clarksburg Plumbing was able to provide next-day service, which we really appreciated. Our technician, John Brown, arrived right on time after giving us a 30-minute courtesy call. John quickly diagnosed the problem, explained everything clearly, and provided an accurate assessment of what needed to be done. He completed the repair in under two hours, and the quality of his work was excellent. Before leaving, he even took the time to share some helpful tips on how to prevent similar issues in the future. John was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better service experience. I highly recommend Clarksburg Plumbing and especially John Brown for anyone needing reliable, high-quality plumbing work.

Cris and Franklin from Clarksburg Plumbing did incredible work at our home fixing an underground water service leak. They encountered complications but went to plan B efficiently and skillfully and got the job done well and in a timely manner. They also answered all our questions patiently and taught us a lot of why they made the decisions they made. We are very pleased with their work and plan to recommend them and all of Clarksburg Plumbing to our friends and neighbors.
